The Ingham family is one of Liverpool’s most successful and well-known, since the establishment of the family business in Casula in 1918. Many Liverpool residents have some association with the family: as workers in their successful poultry business, or in relation to their role in the horse racing industry, and now with the establishment of the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research at Liverpool Hospital. In 2016, the Ingham family generously donated to Council, for the people of Liverpool, a set of high quality showcases, featuring significant items reflecting the family’s long-standing contribution to the Liverpool community.
On display at the Liverpool Regional Museum are items from the History Room of the Ingham Building, including the saddle belonging to the champion thoroughbred race horse Octagonal, and other items from the family’s personal collection.
If you can share a story, photograph, or object related to the Ingham family, please contact us at the Liverpool Regional Museum so we can continue to develop this significant part of Liverpool’s heritage collection.
