Mr Eric Kontos, former Editor of Liverpool Champion, talks about his memories of Liverpool, and the changing voice of the media over the years, as part of the National Trust Heritage Festival “Having a Voice”.
Eric started his career as a cadet journalist with the Liverpool Leader in 1978 and worked there until 1994. He returned as editor of the Liverpool Champion in 2004 and stayed there until he took a redundancy from Fairfax in 2014.
During this span of time, Eric witnessed many of the significant people, places and events of Liverpool City. He has also been part of how the voice of the media has changed over the years.
