Jo Morgan, an Extraordinary Career

Date: 07-Sep-2017

Capacity: Not Set Available

Joanne Morgan is the third highest goal scorer of all time in the National Netball competition, but she began her illustrious career here in Liverpool. A prolific goal scorer at domestic level, Morgan played in an era when Australia had a wealth of shooters to select from. Height, strength and
high accuracy were key features of Morgan’s game. She was the first player to reach 2000 goals in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy and was the competition’s third highest all-time goalscorer with 4250 goals from 127 appearances for the Sydney Swifts, Sydney Sandpipers
and Queensland Firebirds. Morgan’s sole Test came in the second Test of the Milo Cup against New Zealand in Adelaide, which Australia won 58-39. She continues her involvement with netball through talent identification, coaching and serving as a selector for Queensland’s underage teams.
