Madlab Circuits - School Holidays

Learn how circuits work and how to use a variety of tools safely.

Great for any curious kid and all the future electricians and electrical engineers. Fuse a simple circuit for flashing lights.

Due to the tools used, only children aged 8 and over will be able to attend.

Please note participants will learn the correct way to use a soldering iron under supervision of the Children's Discovery Museum facilitator. Actions to mitigate risk for a safe and fun activity include:

  • A competent person is supervising and providing instruction of soldering.
  • Equipment is checked prior to use by supervisor of the activity.
  • Verbal instructions and demonstrations are provided to all persons engaged in soldering procedures, and those supervising or observing.
  • Safety goggles are worn by all persons engaged in soldering and cutting.
  • Participants practise the safe use of soldering irons with cold irons and when the irons are hot, supervisors ensure participants are paying attention to their soldering.
  • Strict age limit for attendees
