Inject new life into old and discarded books through simple but effective folding and stitching techniques.
Covers, text pages or illustrations from pre-loved books offer great potential to be upcycled and transformed.
All manner of bookworks – from sculptural structures like the Turkish map fold and the Columbus cube to pamphlet-stitched notebooks with a unique cover – are easy and fun to make.
The program is suitable for ages 16+
Basic tools and equipment will be loaned from the NSW Guild of Craft Bookbinders
Participants must wear closed-in shoes as some of the tools are sharp.
