The Liverpool Regional Museum’s collection

Bartlett Collection at Liverpool Regional Museum

Bartlett Collection at Liverpool Regional Museum for the exhibition Keeping with Care: Highlights from the Heritage Collection 1800s to 1970s, 14 March – 12 August 2023. Ben Williams photography

Liverpool Regional Museum’s collection of almost 28,000 items graphically shows how people lived, worked, socialised and even went to war for more than a century.

The museum’s collection dates from early colonial times, spanning the first years of the 1800s to the present day.

It ranges from an invitation sent in 1813 by Governor and Mrs Macquarie to Mrs Mary Fisk of Liverpool to a ball commemorating the birthday of Queen Charlotte, to objects from the World War I German Concentration Camp at Liverpool, through memorabilia of the decades to Liverpool’s present day.

The collection comprises a variety of mediums including ceramics, photographs, documents, textiles, wood, leather, medals and the typical wide variety of mixed media compositions (household and industrial objects).
