How to join

It’s easy. Anyone living, studying and working in the Liverpool area can join Liverpool City Library free of charge.

Membership gives you access to a large collection of books, movies, magazines and music, plus eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines and digital research content accessible anytime from anywhere.

Sign up at any of our six library branches. Just present proof of your name and current address. You can get your membership card on the spot.

There is no minimum age to join, but anyone under 18 requires parental/guardian consent.

You can also join online.

Enter your details, agree to the conditions of membership and you will be given a temporary membership number. This can be used to access digital collections. A library card will arrive in a few days.

For everyone under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the membership form and provide identification.
