Welcome to your library

Welcome to Liverpool City Council’s libraries. We have proudly provided educational resources, leisure-time reading entertainment and community gathering spaces for more than 60 years.

The first Liverpool Library opened in 1956 and we have grown with our city. In 2017, the 1.1 million visitors to our six branches or library website could access a collection of more than 350,000 items. They borrowed more than 700,000.

Additionally, our 107 public access computers delivered more than 220,000 sessions.
