"Peter is the author of many books on Australian maritime history."
My talk is to be titled Bermuda - More Than Just a Triangle and starts with a short history and then how my family came to be in Bermuda and goes through the years I was growing up there showing the wonderful life I had as a child, with a brief look at the island as it is today. Hope this will be of interest, and I have been able to include a couple of Australian connections to Bermuda.
Peter Plowman was born in Bermuda in 1944 and lived there until being sent to boarding school in England in 1957. During the years he grew up there the island underwent many changes, as cars were introduced in 1946 along with an airport and Bermuda became a major holiday destination for Americans. The publication in the 1960s of a book about the so-called 'Bermuda Triangle' brought the island a new sort of reputation, while the population growth drastically altered the relaxed way of life.
