Tales of Unknown Pioneers
Hear tales of missionaries, eccentric characters and convicts. The whole mix of stories of colonial pioneers, living conditions, their lifestyle, what they got up to! Hear stories from scandalous to fantastic lives to the most inept of men and how they lived in the early colony.
This talk will explore a variety of early colonists, a convict family, a woman coming with a two-year-old child, a widow with nine children, and a remittance man. All led lives that astonish, surprise and astound us today. Hear of the difficulties they overcame. Some were rogues and some were breathtaking in what they managed to achieve.
